These names all come from the Jungle Book and Second Jungle Book by Rudyard
Kipling. When Robert Baden-Powell was setting up the junior Scout units in1916,
he needed a theme, and asked his friend Kipling if he could use his stories in
the Jungle Book. So that is how junior Scouts became Wolf Cubs. Our name was
changed to Cub Scouts but we still use the wolf pack as our theme as do Cubs
all over the world.

To become a Cub you need to make your Promise, know the Law
and the history of Scouting. Your Leaders help you with this and you can buy
the Powerpack handbook that has lots of interesting things to do and learn.
